Our Members

AIR is an alliance of member organisations and supporters who share a common vision to reduce harmful vehicle emissions and ensure the lowest CO2 emissions from the global vehicle fleet today and in future.

Our Members

Members provide funding and support which enables AIR to retain independence across the portfolio of programmes which include testing and research. Through their contributions, members of the AIR Alliance also provide input to:

  • Identify and engage with relevant independent researchers and experts
    to guide our scientific programmes.
  • Inform the research agenda and participate in research-related activities.
  • Participate in and contribute to AIR’s meetings and workshops.
  • Contribute to AIR’s position papers and documents.
  • Associate with the overall, and issue-specific, activities.
  • Extend the reach and awareness about AIR and its activities.

Individuals and organisations can also join AIR as supporters by signing up online and they receive updates on the work of AIR.

Cenex

Cenex was established as the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for Low Carbon and Fuel Cell technologies in 2005.

Today, Cenex focuses on low emission transport & associated energy infrastructure and operates as an independent, not-for-profit research technology organisation (RTO) and consultancy, specialising in the project delivery, innovation support and market development.

Cenex organises Cenex-LCV, the UK’s premier low carbon vehicle event, to showcase the latest technology and innovation in the industry.

The independence of Cenex ensures impartial, trustworthy advice, and, as a not-for-profit, is driven by the outcomes that are right for the organisations they work with and the environment, not by the work which pays the most or favours one technology.

As trusted advisors with expert knowledge, Cenex is the go-to source of guidance and support for public and private sector organisations along their transition to a zero-carbon future and will always provide the insights and solutions that reduce pollution, increase efficiency and lower costs.

Cenex aims to lower emissions through innovation in transport and energy infrastructure.

Fondazione Bruno Kessler

The Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) is the leading research institute in Italy, ranked number one for scientific excellence across three different subject areas as well as for economic and social impact according to the latest quality of research ANVUR evaluation.

With more than 50 years of experience, two scientific hubs, one dedicated to technology and innovation and one to human and social sciences, more than 400 researchers, FBK’s focus is to provide excellence in science and technology with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches and practical delivery.

FBK’s success is the result of a clear strategy to invest in collaboration and exchange activities with research organizations, both public and corporate, national and international. This extends the reach of innovation capability and involves both the community and the local economy by sharing knowledge and technologies.

MotorCheck

MotorCheck is all about automotive data. The company uses technology to aggregate large and complex automotive datasets and makes them easy to understand, work with and use for customers. Data-driven insights about vehicle identity, mileage, finance, registration, accident damage, and specification are delivered through the MotorCheck Consumer website, the MotorCheck Trade website and via API for B2B data services.

MotorCheck’s extensive experience of data management in both the UK and international markets enables detailed analysis of vehicle emissions to inform the development of practical solutions to improve air quality and reduce the impact of climate change. Working with the AIR Alliance, MotorCheck has developed a data solution connecting individual vehicle registrations with the homologated emissions data and the AIR Index ratings to provide a unique solution that enables the fair and effective implementation of clean air zones.

Sanity System

Sanity System is a global leader in the design and manufacture of sanitisation and disinfectant technologies using ozone gas. Since 2010 the company’s products have been used worldwide in sectors including automotive, education, healthcare, hospitality, public authorities and wellbeing. Sanity System has a dedicated solution for in-cabin environments which regenerates unused ozone back into oxygen at the end of the sanitisation process.

Sanity System’s experience in air quality management through the development and deployment of its technology is directly relevant to the issue of human exposure to pollutants inside a vehicle which are currently un-regulated. This is a growing area of interest to individuals and policy makers as information emerges about the health effects from in-cabin pollution. As a member of the AIR Alliance, Sanity System will support the European CEN Workshop initiated in 2019 to agree the methodology for gathering in-cabin pollutant data.

Why join?

The AIR Alliance is a collation of like-minded organisations and individuals who all share the same vision to reduce the impact of harmful vehicle emissions on air quality and climate change.

All members sign the AIR Alliance manifesto which provides clarity on the values and purpose of AIR, and removes the potential risk of commercial influence distorting the focus of the organisation.

There are several levels of membership and members are typically organisations, rather than individuals. Members provide funding which enables us to retain independence in our programmes which include testing and research.

AIR is guided by the Scientific Advisory Committee of leading academics who guide and oversee the policy and membership of the AIR Alliance.

Whether you are part of a company, academic institution, non-governmental organisations, public sector authority or other organisation please sign up with your name, email address, organisation and title and we’ll get in touch and find the best way to work with you.
